The change from summer to fall is not the only change coming up, unless you live in central Indiana where you basically have two season a year, summer and winter. There is a period of about 5 weeks from the end of September through October where we may experience fall… but as I digress.
In about a week I’ll be starting a new season in my life. On September 1st, I’ll be leaving my current position with Atlas Excavating and begin a new job as a campus intern with my church, Kossuth Street Baptist Church. God has been most gracious in the two years at Atlas, and I’m very thankful for all the blessings that have come from the time there.
As the Lord leads me to a new season, I am excited and thankful for the opportunity to serve the Lord at my local church. The past couple years have been a testament to Proverbs 16:9, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.” From graduating college, when I thought I could spend the rest of my life in construction, to now being put in a situation where I can come along the local church to help discern God’s will for the next season, He has remained faithful and true to His promises.
Along with the change in seasons and jobs, comes a change in my blogging. I have now started a personal blog, this blog, to keep the ‘world’ up to-date on the life and thoughts of me. Though I still plan to occasionally blog at 5pointers, I will try to update this blog more regularly. The content of the blog will probably be broad, but, Lord willing, will always be gospel focused. For the few that probably will read this blog, feel free to let me know when you think the content isn’t honoring to Christ.
One of the main reasons why I started blogging in the first place was to write. As you can tell I’m not a very good writer, so this provides opportunity for me to improve my skills. On top of my poor writing skills, it takes me a while to organize my thoughts and put them on paper, so writing is an area that needs a lot of work. Now, I’ve probably already scared away all of my 2 readers by now. Who wants to read a blog by a guy who can’t write or organize thoughts very well? That’s a good question that I leave to the readers, it would probably be a good thing for my pride if no one reads this, but by the grace of the Lord Jesus, this will be a fruitful adventure and will be used to bring glory to God. And if you do read this, I’d encourage you to respond, whether it’s with advice, correction, questions, encouragement, and any other random thoughts; all would all be greatly appreciated.
Hey Adam,
I added your blog to my feed reader. So I’ll be following along as you’re blogging about what God is doing through your internship at KSBC.
We should get the group from our theology class this past spring together every once in awhile. Those were some good discussions.
